Insurance Plans We Accept

Insurance plans can be complicated. Eye examinations can be covered one of two ways: (1) through medical insurance, or (2) through vision insurance. Vision insurances will only cover a routine exam and will NOT cover testing or evaluation for any medical conditions such as corneal abrasion, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc. Any testing or evaluation for a medical condition must be done through medical insurance.

We accept most medical insurances, including Medicare and most Louisiana Medicaid plans. We also accept most vision insurance plans, both in our clinic and in our optical boutique. Because insurance plans choose which offices they contract with and which offices are considered “in-network”, it is not always our choice to accept an insurance plan. This also means the insurances we accept can be subject to change at the whim of the insurance companies.
